Doncaster - a class location
Welcome to 'A Class Location'

Doncaster - A truly exciting place to live and work.

Doncaster offers a fantastic quality of life, competitively priced housing as well as enjoying unrivalled communication links with the rest of the Country. What’s more, from a work perspective you'll be able to experience a wide range of education environments, from inner city to rural.

The pace of change is rapid, with massive investment and job creation programmes in the Borough (the largest Metropolitan Borough in the country). There have been some major developments in recent years, such as: an international airport; a £200m central shopping complex and integrated transport interchange; a community sports complex and stadium; a major refurbishment of the famous St Ledger racecourse, conference centre & new performance venue and now a massive new civic centre development is planned.

But we'll let you see what they're all about yourself - just click on the web-connections in 'Useful Links' to find out more about Doncaster and to look at the posts currently being advertised in 'Jobs Doncaster'

Our commitment to your professional development is unrivalled. We’ll help you to identify your career path and equip you with fantastic classroom management skills, at Induction and beyond with the Doncaster Professional Learning Framework.

We'll also support you in your first year by enrolling you in to an 'Employee Assistance Programme', operated by the Worklife Support team of the 'Teacher Support Network'.

So if you're completeing your teacher training this year - keep looking out for advertised vacancies (there are still some out there!) and keep getting your applications in. And if you're already qualified perhaps consider some supply work if there's not yet a suitable vacancy being advertised - this is often a great way to find out if you like working in a particular school and some say is the best way to learn the trade! But before you start work on supply, check the 'Guide to NQT Induction' in 'Useful Links', as there are some conditions which could affect your future career in teaching.

Basically if you haven't even thought about looking for a post yet - maybe it's time to start!

We hope that you'll be able to spend some time finding out more about living and working in Doncaster and, if you're looking for a post, that you have luck with your applications for any future vacancies.
